This policy explains how SL Investments collects and uses personal information when you visit our websites, fill in one of our forms, book a call, message us on social media, or work with us. We keep it short and plain. If anything is unclear, email us at [info@slinvestments.co](mailto:info@slinvestments.co).

- Company number: 15221726 (registered in England and Wales)
- Registered office: 61 Bridge Street, Kington, England, HR5 3DJ

## What information we collect

### Information you give us

- **Contact details:** your name, email address, phone number, job title and business name, when you fill in a form (on our website or a social media lead form), book a call, email or message us.
- **Business information:** what you tell us about your business, such as turnover band, plans to sell, grow or step back, and anything you share on a call.
- **Client information:** if you become a client, the accounts, documents and other information you share so we can carry out our work, plus billing details.

### Information we collect automatically

- **Website usage:** pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location and how you arrived, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see "Cookies" below).
- **Email engagement:** whether our emails are opened or links are clicked.

### Information from other sources

- **Public business information:** for business-to-business outreach, we may collect your name, job title, business name, business location and professional profile from public sources such as LinkedIn, company websites and Companies House.
- **Social media platforms:** when you submit a lead form or message us on TikTok, Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn, the platform passes us the details you submitted.

## How we use it, and our lawful basis

| What we do | Lawful basis (UK GDPR) |
| --- | --- |
| Reply to your enquiry, book and hold calls, send you information you asked for | Our legitimate interests in responding to you, or steps you ask us to take before entering a contract |
| Deliver our services (for example the Exit-Readiness Assessment) and invoice you | Performance of a contract |
| Contact business owners and directors about services relevant to their business | Our legitimate interests in growing our business. We keep messages relevant and you can opt out at any time |
| Send our newsletter or marketing emails | Your consent, or for existing clients and enquirers, our legitimate interests (soft opt-in). Every email has an unsubscribe link |
| Measure and improve our website and content | Your consent for non-essential cookies; our legitimate interests for anonymised statistics |
| Keep business and accounting records, and meet legal and regulatory duties | Legal obligation |

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have balanced them against your rights. You can object at any time (see "Your rights").

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

## Who we share it with

We share personal information only with service providers that help us run our business, under contracts that require them to protect it and use it only on our instructions. These include:

- CRM and website hosting (HubSpot)
- Call booking and video calls (Calendly, Zoom, Microsoft Teams)
- Email and documents (Microsoft 365)
- Business-to-business outreach (Gojiberry and LinkedIn)
- Meeting notes and transcription tools, used only with the knowledge of those on the call
- Social media platforms where you contact us (TikTok, Meta, LinkedIn)
- Our professional advisers (accountants, lawyers) and, with your agreement, partners we introduce you to as part of a transaction

We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

## International transfers

Some of our service providers store data outside the UK, mainly in the United States and the European Economic Area, and members of our team may access data from outside the UK. When this happens we use the safeguards UK law requires, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or the UK-US Data Bridge.

## How long we keep it

- **Enquiries and prospects:** up to 2 years after our last contact, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
- **Clients:** for the length of our work together and 6 years after, to meet accounting and legal requirements.
- **Marketing:** until you unsubscribe. We then keep a record so we don't contact you again.

## Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct or complete it
- ask us to delete it
- ask us to restrict how we use it
- object to us using it, including for direct marketing, which we will always stop
- ask us to transfer it to you or another organisation
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent

To use any of these rights, email [info@slinvestments.co](mailto:info@slinvestments.co). We will reply within one month. There is usually no charge.

## Cookies

Our websites use cookies that are needed for the site to work, and, with your consent, analytics and marketing cookies (including HubSpot cookies) that help us understand how the site is used. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie banner or your browser settings.

## Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including access controls and reputable providers with strong security standards. No system is completely secure, so if we ever have a breach that puts you at risk, we will tell you and the ICO where the law requires it.

## Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first at [info@slinvestments.co](mailto:info@slinvestments.co) so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: [ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint](https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/) or 0303 123 1113.

## Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
